Officially UCI

The paper work is done; we are officially Kenda Pro Cycling P/b Spinergy & Travelers Insurance. I would also like to announce an addition to the team my long time friend John Parrish. This little white dude can ride fast and yell really loud. He is a dear friend of mine from my Cycling Center days. John Welcome aboard! Base Training starts next week and will continue for 10 weeks until Feb. 2, 2009. The cycle of training after that will be transition to develop strength endurance and get the legs ready to the speed of racing.

Announcement for 2009 season!

September 26, 2008

INFERNO WINS BIG IN VEGAS! Today, at the Sands Convention Center in the Venetian Casino, Inferno has agreed to a new name and new title sponsor for 2009 and beyond. Long time team sponsor and tire supplier, Kenda, has opted to utilize the program for product testing, development and advertising power!

Kenda

2009 will see Team Inferno Pro Cycling become Kenda Pro Cycling, A division 3 UCI professional team. Another partnership is set to be released in the near future and excitement is high at Inferno Racing LLC.

"It makes great sense!" said team GM, Chad Thompson, of the partnership. "Kenda is based in the same city as our base operations. They make simply the best clincher tires available and have long committed themselves to our program. When approached by Kenda, we were very optimistic and today it became a reality. Thank you Kenda!"

The nearing weeks will see the press releases announcing further partnerships, official team suppliers and the full 2009 roster.

Charlotte and Winston-Salem

I am out and about racing again. This time I am doing some racing on the East Coast of the U.S.; both races this weekend in South Carolina. The race on Saturday forms part of the USA Crit Series. This is the series that we have been gunning for this year. We had Hoppy sitting in first but a few minor misfortunes have bumped him down to 6th. I am sitting in 14th place and I don't see anywhere else to go but up! I have placed my overall goal of the season to be a top ten in the USA crits Series. I think this is a realistic goal considering my current placing and the fact that my fitness is only improving as the season progresses. The racing season will culminate with the Las Vegas World Crit Championships. This will be the final event of the series and I this race will be a last chance or a "seal the deal" type of event. Series are a strange creature and I don't totally base my performance for a particular season solely on the outcome of a series of races. It is hard to do so, the most I can say is that my results have demonstrated and upward progression during the season. Where that progression will end (if at all), only time will tell. I hope to really cap the season with the Vuelta A Chihuahua but first I would have to find a composite squad or another team to allow me to do the race with them. It is a home town event for me and I believe that it is only fair to have an opportunity to demonstrate my form to the people closest to me.

I will keep y'all posted on the events this weekend.

Ciao

USA Crits

Well the season is getting better and better! I just can't get out of getting 11th place. I am not unsatisfied cuz I worked my ass off during the races and was still able to jump in a try to throw down. The Austin Crit was a crazy free for all. There were enough teams with good numbers and it stayed together for the finish. The course was really tight and I moved up as into the top ten. Going into the last corner the field split and I was passed by one guy at the line so I was 11th.

In Boise I felt good and had a good feeling about the race before I started. The race was going good for us and we thought that everything was covered but we missed a move. Bennet and I chased and we thought that we had the move but we only caught 2 guys of the 5 that had gone. 3 riders were off and they ended up lapping us. This was a major blooper and we just had to take it like men and capitalize on what we had left. This race was my first with Hayden (world champ on the track) so I was stoked to help him get in the mix. I moved and I parked too far going into the sprint. I was expecting some feedback from him during the race but I didn't know it was him tapping my butt asking me to go. It was our first time racing together but I know that it is only a matter of time before we start winning some races.

The hightlight of the weekend was the trip that Remi had set up for us! He took us White Water rafting down the Payette River. I can not thank Remi more for that trip. It was a great chance for us to bond and hang out as friends not just as team-mates. Hayden and I feel off the raft. He fell off for messing around making fun of Remi and I fell off when he fell on top of me during a Class 4 rapid. Obviously I lived and we had some great fun! I have not had that much fun in a long time; years!

I will keep everyone posted on the results keep on coming to check me out!
